Our History

McCarthy & Co Accountants have had many incarnations since its inception in the early 1980’s by Peter Gower, John Lucas and Arch Roggeveen, all highly skilled and successful practitioners who managed the practice.

Grant McCarthy had been employed by Arch Roggeveen (then trading as Arch Roggeveen & Associates), as a graduate accountant with Arch, following his own university graduation in March, 1990.

Grant then worked his way up through the business from graduate level, then as a CPA, progressively acquiring the skills and training necessary to succeed in his own practice.

On 1st July 1999, Grant took control of the practice and the business was renamed McCarthy, Roggeveen & Associates. At this time, Chris Receveur was recruited and also joined the practice as a senior accountant.

The business name changed to McCarthy & Co Certified Practising Accountants (CPA’s) in 2006.
